This guide walks you through the full process of creating a scan in S4E Cloud using the guided scan wizard.

Creating a New Scan

Step 1: Open the Guided Scan Wizard

In the left sidebar, navigate to Scans > Start > Guided.

Step 2: Select Scan Type

Choose the scan type that matches your objective:

• Single Scan -- Targeted scan for a specific URL, IP, or domain.
• Full Scan -- Comprehensive security check including OWASP Top 10.
• Light Scan -- Quick and limited security check for rapid insights.
• Crawl Only -- AI-powered web crawling to map your web structure.

Step 3: Select Your Asset

For Full Scan, Light Scan, and Crawl Only:

• Select your verified asset from the Select your verified asset dropdown.
• Only assets that have completed ownership verification are available.

For Single Scan:

• Select a scan tool from the tool library. No verified asset is required at this stage.

Step 4: Enter Target (Single Scan only)

After clicking Next, enter the target URL, IP, or domain in the input field.

Step 5: Configure and Start

For Full Scan and Light Scan, select the scan categories to include and click Start Scan.

For Single Scan, the tool details are shown for review. Click Start Scan to launch.

Scan Tool Library (Single Scan)

When Single Scan is selected, browse the tool library in Step 3 to pick a tool. The list shows:

Use the filters at the top to narrow down the list:

• Category -- Filter by vulnerability category.
• Target Type -- Filter by target type.
• Severity -- Filter by severity level.
• Scan Type -- Filter by scan type.
• Permission -- Filter by permission requirements.
• Status -- Filter by tool status.
• Order By -- Sort the results.

Click Next to proceed to configuration and then start the scan. It will be queued and begin processing shortly.

Other Scan Tools

In addition to the guided wizard, S4E provides these tools in the left sidebar under Scans:

• Tool List -- Browse all available scan tools in the platform.
• Request Builder -- Build custom HTTP requests for manual testing.
• Request Inspector -- Inspect and analyze HTTP request/response details.
